Mission
Our mission is to broaden our literary experience by reading books written by authors of African American
descent. Keeping abreast of the latest books and meeting the writer that wrote them all while building
lifelong relationships. Each member reads for various reasons but the ultimate goal of the book club is to
have fun while discussing the selected titles.

History
The Sweet Soul Sisters Book Club was inaugurated in October 2005 with four members and has prospered

About Us
We are a book club and literary review team. All members are avid readers and are comprised of individuals
from various occupations and ages. We frequently attend local festivals and travel to literary events up and
down the east coast. We believe in feedback and often provide reviews to on-line media giants such as,
BN.com and Amazon.com.
Our members believe reading books provide tools necessary for self enrichment and a connection with the
world. Our meetings are held the Second Saturday of each month at a location selected by the host of that
month. Discussions are exciting, lively and fun!! The Book of the Month is chosen a month or two in
advance to allow all members plenty of time to acquire a copy.
And did we mention plenty of food...lol.
